It was originally believed that Mercedes Mone was one of the highest-paid stars in NJPW, but is that actually the case?
Reports suggested that her fee was significantly higher than the company paid Chris Jericho during his painmaker run. Now it’s being said, however, that the assumptions were not correct.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer revealed recently that the amount she is being paid is ‘not even close’ to Jericho. According to him, it’s also significantly less than what Mone can get with WWE or AEW.

‘The money is not at the level she could get with WWE or AEW. It’s certainly very good money on a per-appearance basis, but that would tell you she’s doing it for the experience and ’˜bucket list’ idea of wanting to at one point in her prime work against the top Japanese women wrestlers in Japan” Meltzer claimed.
Mercedes Mone made her debut for the Japanese promotion during Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January.
The former WWE Superstar attacked the IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI during her first appearance and she is now set to face KAIRI for her title at NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose on February 18.
The former Sasha Banks is also expected to appear at Sakura Genesis on April 8 and a STARDOM show on April 23.
