Ricochet has been put in concussion protocol by WWE.
The former Intercontinental Champion competed in a fatal four-way match with Miz, Ivar, and Bronson Reed on this past Monday’s episode of Raw. The ending of the bout however didn’t appear to go as planned and it attracted attention on social media.
The finish of the match saw Ivar going for a pin on Ricochet while The Miz tried to pin Reed at the same time. The original plans called for a double pin but the high-flying star got his shoulder up and The Miz was declared the winner.
Ricochet doesn’t remember RAW match
Later reports revealed that Ricochet didn’t go through with the plans because he was believed to have been ‘rocked’ early in the bout. On recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio (H/t WrestlingNews.co) Dave Meltzer revealed that the WWE star has been put in concussion protocol after the unexpected finish of the match:
“We don’t…It’s concussion protocol. So I don’t want to say concussion because it was not, as far as I know, it was not a diagnosis of concussion. But he’s fine.”
Meltzer noted that the former champion doesn’t remember much of his match on Raw. The Miz had to walk him through the bout during the show:
“He doesn’t remember a lot of the match. I think it was, from what I understand was Miz talking to him kind of through the match.”
