Bayley had been trying to create a faction in WWE for a while and Dakota Kai was one of the stars she wanted to bring in. Her vision finally came to fruition at SummerSlam this year. There was a time, however when she wasn’t sure this group will ever come into existence after Kai had been released from WWE.
The former women’s champion recently discussed Kai’s release on After The Bell podcast (H/t Sportskeeda) She mentioned how Dakota’s departure was heartbreaking for her:
‘That was really heartbreaking for me because she [Dakota Kai] was the first one that I really thought would fit so well. I just felt we had a really cool dynamic and that our styles work well together, and our characters would work well together.
Bayley explained that she had given up on the idea of creating her faction after the former NXT star got released:
“And when she was like [released], I just kind of gave up on it. But something was eating at me. I didn’t want to come back alone. I didn’t want to come back and just fall into the same thing. I really believe that there is some change that needs to happen in order for everybody to take the women’s division to a different level.’
