AJ Styles was originally scheduled to face The Undertaker in a live match at WrestleMania 36. Like many other things, the coronavirus pandemic ruined these plans. The two ended up having a great boneyard match in the end, but Styles still wishes for a match with the Dead Man in front of the crowds.

Styles spoke to Nick Hausman of WrestlingInc over the WrestleMania weekend. He admitted that he still wants a match with the Hall Of Famer. AJ also revealed that he tried reaching out to Taker for the same, but knowing what was waiting for him, he never picked up the calls:

‘Of course, of course, I do. I mean, I had all these ideas and stuff that we never got to do, but it wasn’t meant to be, I think we all knew that once the Boneyard match got the reaction that it did, that might be it. I called, and he didn’t return my calls, because he knew, ’˜hey, he’s going to convince me to have another match.’’

AJ Styles said that the Undertaker’s Hall Of Fame induction is huge.  On being his final match in wrestling, Styles said that it’s a compliment to everyone involved. This includes Gallows and Anderson, as well as the crew working behind the scene.
