Vince McMahon seems to be serious about selling WWE and there are all sorts of rumors about potential buyers. One of the more interesting names being thrown around is the AEW President Tony Khan, who claims that they are capable of making the big purchase.
The AEW official talked about the future of WWE during an appearance on The Maggie and Perloff Show (H/t Fightful). Speaking about the possibility of buying the company, Khan said that he is interested in the news:
“I am interested in the news that there is potentially a sales process and certainly, I think we’ve shown, when there are acquisitions and transactions, we’re capable of making the big purchases.
“Whether my dad steps up with the (Jacksonville) Jaguars or Fulham FC in the Premier League, and he’s done such a great job building up the club and putting resources into it, and we’re playing football at a high level.”
Could Tony Khan buy WWE?
Tony Khan mentioned that there have only been preliminary talks about the sale. If anything official comes out, he will be interested in being part of the process.
When asked if he has a relationship with Vince McMahon, Tony said that he has talked to Stephanie McMahon but never Vince:
“No, I don’t have any relationship with him. I’ve talked with Stephanie and have had good conversations with Stephanie, but I don’t know Vince at all.”
