The balance of power in wrestling has shifted massively in the past month. Vince McMahon has taken retirement from WWE and it has led to other people losing power in the company. There are also some who have benefitted from this change. Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque is the biggest example of that, who is now heading the creative department as well as talent relations.
The Game opened up about his new role in the company during the latest WWE earning call [H/t Fightful]. He mentioned that he has been doing creative for a long time:
“For me, I’ve been doing this for a long time, from behind the scenes in creative, from really almost the very beginning of my career here with WWE. I’m approaching it from a ’˜first day’ what is working, what isn’t working, from the overall picture, all the day down to the smallest of details and really trying to create from there.”
Triple H later explained that it all comes down to the same thing. It’s all about creating iconic characters and putting them in interesting storylines:
“It all comes down to the same thing that it’s come down to since the beginning; creating iconic characters, putting them in amazing storylines and fantastic storylines and whatever works for those characters the best and then running with it and watching how fans react to that along the way.”
