Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis accused of Sex Trafficking by former employee

Last updated

WWE’s Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis have been accused of sex trafficking among other things in a new lawsuit filed by former employee Janel Grant.

The lawsuit filed at the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut alleges that McMahon and Laurinaitis ‘engaged in sexual assault and trafficking of Ms. Grant both for their own pleasure and as a pawn to secure talent deals with prospective wrestlers they were recruiting.’

The filing claims that McMahon showered Grant with gifts and work promotions during her time with the company while also threatening to fire her if she didn’t ‘succumb to his increasingly depraved sexual demands’

The former WWE employee claims that she was pressured to resign from the company after McMahon’s wife found out about this relationship. She was also forced to sign an NDA days before a ‘major financial deadline’ for the organization.

However, the former Chairman later allegedly refused to pay her the promised $3 million claiming that she had leaked information to the press.

These allegations are in line with the accusations made against Vince McMahon in April 2022 that led to the former WWE owner briefly stepping away from his duties as the chairman and CEO of the company and announcing retirement.

The WWE executive however would return to his position only six months later. After Internal investigations, the company disclosed $19.6 million in unrecorded payments McMahon made to settle multiple sexual misconduct claims between 2006 and 2022 which McMahon agreed to pay back upon his return.

The changed power dynamics following WWE’s merger with UFC under the TKO branding will of course make it harder for McMahon to stay in his position while facing these allegations.

Stay tuned for more as the situation develops.
