Nobody wants to miss the biggest wrestling event of the year, WrestleMania, and this includes Vince McMahon.
WWE has been adamant that the Chairman of The Boards is not involved with the day-to-day of the company despite his return. Nick Khan recently claimed that he has given ideas but not interfered with creative.
This didn’t appear to be the case with the show yesterday night, however, as Vince was involved with the event more than he has been since his return.
What was Vince McMahon doing at WrestleMania?
News broke out earlier yesterday that Vince McMahon was backstage at WrestleMania. Fightful Select then provided an update on his involvement with the show, claiming that McMahon was not shy about giving input:
“We’re told that Vince McMahon was not shy about giving input in Gorilla Position Saturday night. Talent told us that they even saw him around their hotel.”
Though PWinsider in a report claimed that Triple H was the one running the PLE. According to them, Vince McMahon was in a supervisory role but once the show started, Paul Levesque was the point man:
“Vince McMahon has an office adjacent to the Gorilla Position backstage at WrestleMania and was heard on setset before the show giving feedback and asking questions. Once the show began, Paul Levesque was on headset all night running and directing. He was the point person in charge. While Vince McMahon was there in a supervisory role, once the show started, Levesque was the person running the event.”
The Night 2 of WrestleMania 39 will feature many notable matches including the main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. The involvement of Vince, who has been hands-on with everything Reigns has done on the main roster since the start, may increase during the show.
