Cody Rhodes has become an even bigger star after jumping ships from AEW to WWE. Vince McMahon and company have also been presenting him as a main eventer. Many believe that he will be the one to finally defeat Roman Reigns. A wrestling veteran, however, thinks that he is not as big of a draw as people believe.

Former WWF writer Vince Russo revealed these thoughts during an interview with Wrestle Buddy. He first mentioned how Rhodes must be getting a lot more money from WWE now:

“I think from a business point of view, bro, [Cody Rhodes] went back there and got a hell of a lot more money, man. So, I think he did really, really, really good for himself.”

Despite it, Russo believes that Cody is not a draw for the masses. He is a star for the hardcore audience and not ‘the guy’:

But again, bro, I’m just going to go right back to the well. I don’t think Cody Rhodes draws the masses. I just don’t, bro. The hardcore love him. A mass audience, I don’t think he’s the guy, bro.’

Cody is currently out with a shoulder injury. WWE has reported that he will be out of action for 9 months but the general belief is that he will be back before Royal Rumble.
