Some top AEW names were reportedly contacted by WWE recently with regards to them potentially returning to the company.
According to a recent report from Fightful Select, there are some major names that the company are looking to bring back under Triple H.
“A source within WWE also stated they heard that feelers were sent out to Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR” the site revealed.
“The two have a while left AEW contracts, and spent years in the WWE system working with Triple H. WWE had made numerous efforts to re-sign FTR under the Vince McMahon regime, but they chose to join AEW” Fightful continued.
WWE contacting AEW stars?
“Among others, Swerve Strickland is a name widely known within AEW that was also contacted by WWE” Fightful added.
“Finally, while we don’t have a name, an All Elite source also said WWE had reached out in August to an AEW name who had been with the company since the start, but that even we’d be surprised to learn they reached out to.”
We’re hoping to find out more on who this day 1 performer is, as it could be someone along the lines of Kenny Omega or Hangman Adam Page. We don’t have any confirmation at all on this, but hopefully we’ll find out soon!
