WWE has 12 Premium Live Events listed in a single calendar year. Now, reports suggest that the company is planning two PLEs for May.

According to Wrestlenomics, WWE is slated to run two premium live events this May with Backlash kicking off the PLE action on the 6th of said month. The first-ever Backlash PPV took place in 1999. The event was renamed to WrestleMania Backlash in 2021. However, WWE is said to be dropping the WrestleMania branding from Mania’s aftermath.

Meanwhile, May 27 will see the return of the King of the Ring PLE as well. According to the report, WWE will present both King and Queen of the Ring on the same night. WWE last held the KOTR PPV event in 2002. Since then, the company has continued to use the event as part of special events.

For those wondering, the inaugural Queen’s Crown tournament took place as part of the Crown Jewel PLE in Saudi Arabia on October 21, 2021. The tournament was won by Zelina Vega.

WWE recently hosted the Elimination Chamber premium live event from Montreal, Canada. The company will return with two nights of PLE action in the form of WrestleMania 39 on April 1st and 2nd.
