Kenny Omega is a perfomer and serves as the EVP in AEW. Meanwhile, in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there is a “much bigger major free agent” in play right now that WWE sees as a priority over Jay White.
WWE has interest in Kenny Omega
WrestlingNews.co has heard that this person is Kenny Omega as his AEW deal has expired or is set to expire soon. Omega and The Young Bucks had talks with WWE prior to signing their AEW deals 4 years ago.
In an update on Fightful Select, numerous sources say that they overheard Tony Khan say that time “could be” added to Omega’s deal because of injuries but Omega has good legal representation, and the time being added is not guaranteed to happen.
It has been noted that Omega has been complimentary towards WWE in the past and has even talked about being open to the idea of AEW and WWE having a working relationship. That does not seem to be in the cards but it looks like Omega making the jump to WWE is a possibility.
Again, it’s not a confirmed that Omega will go to WWE but given how they have pushed Cody Rhodes as a top-tier star and the money that they would offer to sign another EVP, anything is possible.
