AEW and WWE are bitter rivals, but can they share the same home when it comes to TV network?
WWE’s upcoming TV Rights renewal have been a prominent subject of discussion for sometime. Now that the deal with Endeavor has been made, many expect them to get a big bump in their next rights deal.
The last WWE TV deals saw USA Network retaining Raw while Fox becoming the new home for SmackDown. Many people have been speculating if we can see the shows moving around again if they find a better deal elsewhere.
Could WBD Bid for WWE?
Famed author and reporter James Andrew Miller recently joined the SI Media podcast (H/t Wrestlingnews). Miller who has previously worked as Executive VP of Original Programming for USA Network, noted that he has heard of interest from Warner Bros Discovery in hosting WWE programming:
“I think so, I wouldn’t be surprised, despite the fact that money is such an issue for them, I wouldn’t be surprised if Warner Bros. Discovery wouldn’t like a slice of that WWE pie.”
Miller speculated that WBD could move Raw off Monday nights if they get the show to avoid competition. When asked if WWE could replace AEW, James Miller said that he doesn’t know:
“I don’t know but I know there are people at Warner Bros. who are interested [in WWE].”
