AJ Styles (real name Allen Neal Jones) is currently signed to WWE’s Monday Night RAW brand. Known as The ’˜Phenomenal One,’ Styles is regarded as one of the best in-ring performers of his generation.

Styles was born on June 2, 1977 at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and he is now 45 years of age. He stands at a height of 5ft 11ins tall (1.80m).

Styles began his professional wrestling career in 1998, appearing for National Championship Wrestling as Mr Olympia, a masked wrestler. In December of 1998, NCW merged with NWA Georgia to form NWA Wildside, where Allen Jones would eventually win the company’s NWA Georgia Heavyweight Championship in 2001.

Due to his performances for NWA Wildside, Styles was offered a contract by World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in early 2001. Styles was renamed Air Styles by WCW, joining Air Paris in a tag team called Air Raid. Paris and Styles were entered into the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship tournament to crown an inaugural winner.

Styles appeared for a number of independent promotions before signing with Ring of Honor in 2002. He debuted for the company at the third ever show: A Night of Appreciation. Styles won the ROH Pure Title and ROH Tag Team Championships with Amazing Red during his time in the company.

AJ Styles joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2002. Styles was part of the company’s first ever PPV event, teaming with Low-Ki and Jerry Lynn. The Phenomenal One became the inaugural X Division Champion the following week, a division that he helped to establish and become TNA’s signature style for many years to come. As well as being one of the TNA originals, Styles is widely regarded as the greatest performer in TNA history.

Arguably the greatest match in TNA history took place at Unbreakable 2005. Then TNA X Division Champion Christopher Daniels defended his belt in a Three Way match against Styles and Samoa Joe. This is the only match in TNA history that was given a 5 star review in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Styles left IMPACT Wrestling to join New Japan Pro Wrestling, joining the Bullet Club stable and winning the prestigious IWGP Heavyweight Championship after defeating Kazuchika Okada.

In 2016 the former TNA star officially joined the WWE roster at that year’s Royal Rumble event. Styles appeared at #3 in the Royal Rumble match, going face to face with Roman Reigns.

During his WWE career, The Phenomenal One has won the WWE Championship, Intercontinental and WWE RAW Tag Team Championships.
