Fans are eager to watch the face-off between the former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. After KO issued a challenge to ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’, the WWE legend accepted it and vowed that he would show up at WrestleMania 38 to be a guest on KO show. Many fans have been speculating if Austin would lock horns with Owens at ‘The Show of Shows.’

Recently, AEW star Chris Jericho who has closely worked with Steve Austin as well as Kevin Owens in the past, shared his thoughts on the face-off. ‘Le Champion’ noted lavished praise on ‘The Prizefighter’ and stated that he is the perfect opponent for Austin.

Chris Jericho explains his statement on Kevin Owens

There is no doubt that Austin and Owens both are great mic-workers and are popular for their promo skills. Jericho noted this attribute of KO and said that he would be perfect to have a war of words with the WWE legend. Compared to other stars, Owens has a particular trait that is similar to Austin which will make the segment at WrestleMania 38 more intriguing. Here is what Jericho had to say on the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show:

‘If Steve comes in, the best guy for the job is Kevin Owens because Kevin will be able to sell it on the mic, he can go toe-to-toe with Steve, he’s got a comedy element to him that Steve has as well and will probably really have if he comes back because he can use that to his advantage, which Kevin will sell perfectly,’ Jericho said. ‘Can’t do that with Roman Reigns. And Kevin will be able to work with Steve exactly the way Steve needs and can work. Which is just meat and potatoes, that’s Kevin Owens. Kevin can do some flying and flipping, but if you ask him, he’d probably rather just punch and kick you in the corner, and that’s Steve’s whole offensive plan.”

With KO recently adding ‘Stunner’ to his arsenal, it has made it more interesting as Austin also uses ‘Stunner’ as his finisher. Jericho said:

‘That’s a great idea and I would still love to see it happen. Kevin has been using [the Stunner] for a while because Steve allowed him to, so there’s your story. You want a realistic story, you’ve got it right there. Kevin’s also a guy that loves the WWF, he learned how to speak English listening to Jim Ross on commentary. I’m surprised he doesn’t have a southern accent, so he’s got that too.’

WrestleMania 38 will take place on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3 from AT& T Stadium in Arlington, Texas
