Like many other stars, AJ Styles also credits Triple H for bringing him in WWE.
The Game recently announced his official retirement from in-ring competition. The news resulted in an outpouring of wishes and thank yous for the former world champion. Many of the current generation stars posted various messages on social media and shared stories of how Triple H gave them their first chance in wrestling.
Styles spoke to WrestlingInc during the WrestleMania 38 week. He commented on the backstage meeting before the big event where Triple H met many talents for the first time since his cardiac event. AJ Styles said that he was glad to see him and credited the King of Kings for bringing him into WWE:
‘Yeah, Triple H was here, and I am glad to see him, man, you’ve got to think, when I think about his retirement, I am here because of him. Because he called me, that’s huge for me.’
AJ Styles joined WWE in 2016. He skipped NXT and made his main roster debut during the Royal Rumble event that year. Styles got to share the ring with Triple H during WWE’s Japan tour back in 2019. The two never had any televised match in WWE.
