SummerSlam kicked off with a banger as the RAW Women’s Championship match took place in the opening contest. Bianca Belair went on to successfully defend her title against Becky Lynch. After the bout, the latter shook hands with Belair and hugged her, seemingly turning babyface. It has been speculated that one of the women in the bout might have sustained an injury which could be in the shoulder region or the arm itself. in the heat of the match.
