Former MMA and pro wrestling star Cain Velasquez has been arrested after being involved in a shooting incident that took place near San Jose, California on Monday.

According to police, they are investigating the incident that took place in Morgan Hill, CA, near Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue.

The shooting involving Velasquez took place at around 3:14pm local time. One victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while another was arrested.

Police have said that the former WWE star is involved. TMZ reports that he is facing an attempted murder charge.

Cain Velasquez is held in the Santa Clara County jail. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that he is being held without bail.

The former UFC champion joined WWE back in October 2019. He was brought in to fight Brock Lesnar for the Crown Jewel event from Saudi Arabia. Though for the surprise of many, Velasquez lost this bout to the Beast Incarnate.

WWE had intended to use him further but the former champion got injured. WWE then made the decision to release the MMA star after only one match in April 2020. He has since returned to AAA.
