WWE Hall of Famer Edge headlined last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW. He squared off against Judgement Day member Damien Priest. ’˜The Rated R Superstar’ emerged victorious in the clash after delivering some memorable moments for his hometown crowd in Toronto, Canada.
Edge was attacked by Judgment Day before Beth Phoenix returned and helped out her husband. After the show went off the air, Edge indicated that his retirement was coming soon.
Edge might retire next year
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Edge could retire at next year’s SummerSlam Premium Live Event. He added that Edge might just want to retire on his own terms:
“He gave the impression that the show in August might be SummerSlam and he said that it could be the end of this run. He signed a 3-year deal when he came back, but of course, he can retire if he wants to. It’s very hard to walk away from that. He may feel that way today, but a year from now, who knows how he’ll feel. I think he probably would want to retire in Toronto and choose his own way of retiring.”
We will now have to wait and see what is next for him.
