Big E suffered an unfortunate neck injury during the March 11 episode of SmackDown. Fans have been worried about the career of the former WWE champion since then. Now a former WWE doctor has put in words what many of us have been fearing about the whole situation.

Former WWE doctor David Chao recently wrote an article on Outkick.com where he discussed E’s health. He mentioned how Big E himself revealed that he has suffered two different fractures in the neck at C1 and C6. Per Chao, a C1 fracture is most dangerous and it could mean the end of his career:

“The C1 fracture is most dangerous as the top cervical vertebrae is a ring and is commonly associated with immediate death or complete paralysis. Thankfully the fracture was not displaced and he will not need surgery. However, this type of fracture often heals incompletely and it may mean the end of his wrestling career.’

Big E teamed up with Kofi Kingston to face Sheamus and Ridge Holland in a tag team match during the mentioned SmackDown episode. The former world champion suffered the injury due to a botched belly to belly suplex from Holland. There has been no concrete update on how the WWE star is doing after the incident.
