The former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston was recently invited to join NXT 2.0. The invitation was sent by none other than the NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes. He wanted the New Day member to move to the revamped version of NXT. The North American Champion invited Kingston to NXT after the latter’s match on SmackDown this week.

Kofi Kingston responds

Carmelo Hayes has been having a great run on NXT 2.0 ever since his debut. The former Beyond Wrestling Star recently defeated veteran Roderick Strong to end his Cruiserweight title run. Noting down the invitation, The Hand of the King quickly responded as he challenged Hayes to show up on the blue brand ahead of Royal Rumble 2022 of which potential main event was reported.

“Bruh… just bring yo a** to Smackdown! It is rumble season after all…”- Kofi tweeted.

On this week’s edition of SmackDown, Kofi read out a royal proclamation by King Woods. He said that although the latter is out with an injury, there can be no Royal Rumble without the presence of royalty. Therefore, The Hand of the King, Sir Kofi, will enter the battle royale. The former WWE Champion was soon interrupted by the duo of Moss and Happy Corbin, which led to a match between the former and Kingston. Madcap countered his opponent’s SOS and hit the Punchline for the win.

We will see which NXT 2.0 stars make appearance at this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
