Liv Morgan was successful in defending WWE SmackDown Women’s title against Ronda Rousey at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Fans noted how the match turned out to be a very short affair. Many believed the match was going to be a long one.
However, in reality, the match lasted four minutes and 35 seconds. It also ended in controversy as Rousey applied the arm bar and made Morgan tap out, but Morgan pinned Rousey’s shoulders down as the referee counted to three.
WWE reportedly cut the match short
Bryan Alvarez took to Twitter and gave a possible reason for the match being so short. He claimed that it was due to Logan Paul and the Miz being a longer match.
“That match had a lot of time cut because Miz and Logan went long. HOW ABOUT WE CUT SOME VIDEO PACKAGES INSTEAD OF TIME OFF MATCHES?”
It was also noted that Ronda Rousey turned heel during the match and later on assaulted the champ after she retained the title. The finish was a bit controversial as Morgan tapped and referee made the three-count with Ronda’s shoulders on the mat. But, referee decided to award the pinfall to Morgan. We will have to wait and see whether Rousey will get another shot at Liv Morgan’s title or not.
