WWE recently officially announced that NXT UK will be going on a hiatus and will be rebranded into “NXT Europe” in 2023. It has been noted that since the announcement, several NXT UK stars were released including Emilia McKenzie, Flash Morgan Webster, Amale, Wild Boar, Mark Andrews, Jack Starz, Dave Mastiff, Ashton Smith, Nina Samuels, Sam Gradwell, Dani Luna, Rohan Raja, Primate, Sha Samuels, Kenny Williams, and ring announcer Kirsty Bosley.
Another round of cuts has been made
It has been noted that the following updates were made to the rosters on WWE’s website. The additional names that have been moved to the “WWE Alumni” section are Eddie Dennis, Amir Jordan, Saxon Huxley, Teoman, Trent Seven, Sid Scala, and Xia Brookside.
“Following the success of our live events and talent identification efforts throughout all of Europe, we believe this is the perfect time to expand NXT beyond the UK,” Shawn Michaels, WWE Vice President of Talent Development Creative said. It should be noted, this appears to be the first time Michaels’ new title with the company has been confirmed.
As it stands, NXT UK currently airs weekly on Peacock and WWE Network, with its most recent shows being recorded at the BT Sport Studios in London, England. Initially, shows were being recorded on the road around the United Kingdom,
WWE revealed that a special premium live event, Worlds Collide, will take place on Sunday, September 4 that will feature stars from “NXT 2.0” and “NXT UK.”
