WWE has made a massive change to the WWE Elimination Chamber event. Usually, the Elimination Chamber matches will set up the top title matches for WrestleMania, but this time, the men’s Chamber is just for the United States Championship instead.
WWE made the official announcement on RAW
It has been noted that the change has been made because the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes is already challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania.
The planned main event for Elimination Chamber is of course the highly anticipated Reigns vs Sami Zayn match, taking place in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Daily Update, the feeling in WWE is that Reigns vs Zayn is such a strong match, it simply ‘doesn’t matter’ what’s on the rest of the show.
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, the US Title Chamber match was announced. Austin Theory will be defending the title against Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed and Johnny Gargano, with two others to be decided next week. Next week’s qualifiers will be Angelo Dawkins vs Damian Priest, and Montez Ford vs Elias.
