The reason Sami Zayn has not wrestled since Money In The Bank is that he is dealing with a legitimate injury.
The former NXT champion was seen wearing a sling in his arm during the July 15 episode of SmackDown. It led to people speculating about his health.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer confirmed the suspicion that Zayn is legitimately injured. Meltzer however, claimed that the injury is ‘not major’ and the WWE officials are ‘hopeful he can wrestle in a few weeks.’
Sami Zayn competed in the Money in the Bank ladder match during the most recent WWE PPV. While Zayn has not wrestled since then, he has continued his storyline of being a ‘member’ of The Bloodline along with The Usos.
The former indie star joined NXT in 2013 and he has been a part of the company ever since. He hasn’t won a world title in the promotion but he has had multiple runs with the Intercontinental championship.
Sami signed a new long-term contract with WWE earlier this year. Explaining his decision, the former champion said that WWE officials have shown him their appreciation over the last two years. They have allowed him a bit more creative freedom and that’s what kept him in WWE.
