Adam Cole reacts to news of WWE main roster plans

Former WWE NXT Superstar Adam Cole made a shocking debut for AEW at the All Out PPV event on Sunday, September 5th. The former leader of Undisputed Era had run down his contract with WWE, and reports of what the company had planned for the former NXT Champion on the main roster were seemingly leaked recently.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan was apparently for Adam Cole to become Keith Lee’s manager on the main roster; acting as a mouthpiece akin to what Lio Rush previously did for Bobby Lashley.

During an interview with TVInsider, Cole would state had he had not heard of plans to move him up to WWE Raw as the mouthpiece for Lee:

‘I personally have never heard anything regarding that. I touched base a little bit on how my meeting with Vince McMahon went really well. We talked for about 30 minutes. He had a lot of complimentary things to say. As far as hearing that specific thing, that was not something I heard about. My four years with NXT was fantastic. My four years with WWE was awesome, but at the end of the day, I wanted to end up with AEW. Now that I’m here, I’m stoked.’
