WWE Superstar was ‘shoehorned’ into WrestleMania match

In a surprising revelation, WWE superstar Braun Strowman disclosed that he and his tag team partner Ricochet were rather abruptly included in a showcase match at WrestleMania 39, held in April 2023’‹.

The first night of WrestleMania 39 witnessed the Men’s WrestleMania Showcase, a fatal four-way tag team match. This match featured the formidable teams of Viking Raiders, Street Profits, Alpha Academy, and Strowman & Ricochet.

Despite the unexpected nature of their participation, Strowman and Ricochet gave it their all, but it was the Street Profits who emerged victorious’‹.

In an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Strowman expressed his deep love for WWE.

He said, “I love this. I’ve said it time and time again, I truly believe I was put on this earth to do this and for this company.”’‹

While discussing his involvement in WrestleMania 39, Strowman revealed, “I’m walking into WrestleMania now, things were uncertain about what was going to happen at WrestleMania, but now we figured out a way, we got shoehorned in last minute.”

Despite the last-minute decision, Strowman viewed it as an opportunity to share his WrestleMania moments with those who hadn’t yet experienced such high-profile events. He said, “Now I have the opportunity to go out there and share this special moment.”’‹

A Wrestler’s Struggles

However, Strowman’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. In the same interview, he revealed that he is dealing with partial paralysis in his leg’‹.

Furthermore, he recently underwent neck fusion surgery’‹. His last match was on May 1st 2023, and he has been out of action since then, following a concussion just over a week earlier’‹.
