Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Carlito appeared at WWE Backlash 2023, but is the Puerto Rican Superstar now back in the company?
According to a new report from PWInsider, it appears as though the former IC Champ is not signed to a deal with WWE and it was a one-time-only appearance.
“Carlito has not signed with WWE and as of this morning, is not scheduled for either Raw or Smackdown this week” Mike Johnson confirmed on the site.
“His appearance was planned as a single-night cameo to pop the crowd in Puerto Rico, which it obviously did. The huge reaction Carlito received did not go unnoticed backstage” Johnson added.

Although he does not appear to be signed to the company, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him return for another match at some point, potentially alongside the likes of Bad Bunny or Rey Mysterio.
The last time that the Superstar wrestled for WWE was back in February 2021, when he teamed with Jeff Hardy to defeat Elias & Jaxson Ryker in the WWE Thunderdome.
