The former AEW superstar’s stint on the show has been a topic of much discussion, with many speculating about the reasons behind his sudden departure a few years ago.
CM Punk’s relationship with WWE has always been a roller-coaster ride. While he was an analyst on WWE Backstage, there were numerous reports of Punk making “desperate attempts” to return to WWE.
However, his tenure on the show was riddled with issues. Such actions certainly didn’t endear him to the WWE management.

Issues on the WWE Backstage Show
Ringside News shed some light on the matter in a recent report. They were apparently informed by a seasoned member of the creative team that CM Punk’s comments on the WWE Backstage show were causing disruptions.
As a result, his role was reduced in an attempt to mitigate the issues. However, this move didn’t seem to rectify the situation.
The problems escalated to such an extent that WWE had to intervene. They either decided to remove Punk from the show or advised FOX that Punk needed stricter oversight.
This might explain why CM Punk’s appearances on the show dwindled towards its conclusion on FS1.

CM Punk: Future with WWE
Despite his controversial past with WWE, there’s no denying CM Punk’s immense talent and the value he brings to the table.
However, his recent actions and the subsequent fallout with WWE Backstage might have jeopardised his chances of a return to the company.
With his release from AEW, Punk now has ample free time. While he could possibly be keen on a WWE return, the recent events suggest that it might not be on the cards for him.
