CM Punk: Why he was apparently ‘kicked out’ of WWE RAW

Last updated

All Elite Wrestling star CM Punk was backstage at WWE RAW this week from Chicago, and a new rumor indicates why he got ‘kicked out’ of the arena.

According to a new report/rumor from @BlackMaskofPW, who claims to be a tenured member of WWE backstage staff and has correctly reported several stories recently, Punk was asked to leave as he is not currently ‘welcomed’ at WWE events, not just because he is under AEW contract.

“Yes Punk was briefly at RAW. No he was not removed due to being under #AEW contract. He was removed because he is currently not welcomed here. Vince didn’t make the call. Management in attendance did” the account claimed on Twitter.

It’s worth noting that this rumor from the Black Mask of Wrestling is just that, a rumor, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.

A report on F4WOnline summed up the apparent situation, noting that it was apparently Vince McMahon who requested that Punk leave the building:

PWInsider, who initially reported Punk’s backstage visit, said that he did ‘briefly see Paul Levesque’ and ‘met with several other WWE talents’ before being asked to leave. They additionally reported that their source said it was a Vince McMahon decision to have Punk leave the venue due to Punk being under contract to another company (AEW).”

Obviously @BlackMaskofPW has refuted this, so we will try and get more on the situation this week.
