Former AEW star CM Punk has been rumoured for a potential WWE return over the past few weeks, but has he even spoken to the company?
We’ve tried to get more on the situation, and from what we’ve been told, it looks as though Punk and WWE haven’t even spoken about business…yet, at least officially.
“WWE for the first time in over 10 years, are now open to it” is what we were recently told by one of our sources. “They know without Bray Wyatt and Edge, they have a huge gap to fill with major star power needed. Nothing agreed, no deal done, but WWE are now open to it, yes.”
It was also re-iterated to us that “almost everyone backstage/internally has spoken about Punk in recent months,” whch is an interesting wrinkle.

CM Punk WWE Return
Right now, we’ve only been able to get anything that appears concrete from one source, so we’re currently treating this as a rumour for now.
We’ll hopefully be able to get more on this in the coming weeks, especially with the constant “teases” on WWE programming, especially involving Seth Rollins.
IF Punk were to make a return at an event like Survivor Series, which is in Chicago this year, it would certainly be a massive move and statement from the company.
