Cody Rhodes comments on potential big change to WrestleMania main event

Last updated

Cody Rhodes is set to face Roman Reigns in a one-on-one match at WrestleMania 39, but could these plans change?

Rhodes has been very open about his desire to win a world title in WWE. He came a step closer to the dream when he won the Royal Rumble. There are some people, however, who believe that the opportunity should have been afforded to Sami Zayn instead.

Rhodes recently spoke to Ariel Helwani (H/t Fightful) to discuss the different possibilities for WrestleMania main event. He said that he wouldn’t mind competing in a triple threat match with Zayn involved at Mania:

‘No, I don’t really have a preference. Solely because I want to wrestle the best. People wanted a contender forever. So if two show up, don’t be mad. Don’t make it about A or B, or B or A, or one or two. Enjoy it all. That’s really been kind of the challenge. I can’t begrudge a dude for getting super hot.”

Cody Rhodes does not have a preference

Cody Rhodes explained that he does not have the EVP stroke anymore. According to the American Nightmare, he has no preference on which direction his current story goes:

“I have no preference in terms of the direction it goes. I really look forward to the moments when I’m in there if they happen, Sami, whether that’s just on the Road to WrestleMania, because I think it’s different than people think. I think he’s doing amazing. So yeah, bring it all together.’
