Corey Graves would welcome CM Punk back in WWE.

The former WWE Champion burned a lot of bridges on his way out of the company in 2014. One such friendship that was ruined was that of the Straight Edge Star and the current SmackDown commentator.

Graves had expressed his displeasure with the former champion in multiple tweets at the time. The WWE star had called Punk out for ‘abandoning everyone’ who stood by his side and turning his back on people who supported him.

A lot has changed since then however and Corey Graves seems to be open to the idea of CM Punk returning to WWE. He talked about the same during an appearance on Kurt Angle’s podcast and noted that he hasn’t spoken to Punk since 2014:

“I don’t really know what happened. We sort of fell out for one reason or another. I said some disparaging things, in a very public and unprofessional manner. We haven’t spoken since prior to then.”

Speaking about the rumours of a potential Punk return, Graves explained that he is ‘too old’ to hold grudges. According to him, he would happily do whatever is right for the business:

“At the end of the day, rather than sitting here and wasting everybody’s time. I’m a professional. I’m too old to hold grudges. I feel like whatever has happened is water under the bridge. I have a whole different life, I’m in a different place in my life than I was back when all that stuff went down. If it’s right for business, who am I to say no? I’m a pro at the end of the day. I would happily do whatever is needed and I would shake the man’s hand and move on and see what life holds.”
