Roman Reigns has been missing from WWE programming for quite some time, but could the company take the belts off of him?
Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the potential of The Tribal Chief dropping the belts.
‘The thing is, given the lack of depth and everything like that, the idea of Seth as champion going into next year and Cody coming back to challenge Seth, that is a story, but I don’t know what’s going to happen” Meltzer began.
Roman Reigns WWE Champion
“The thing with the championship now, with Roman, is that he’s around some, but he’s not around a lot and this making one champion now, and then Roman, you know, making his deal where he’s never around is kind of weak when it comes to the championship, you know?” Meltzer concluded.
So could WWE take the belts off of Roman? Absolutely, but we’re not expecting it to happen anytime soon.
Clearly, the company still values the WWE and Universal Champion, and they’re hoping to have him keep the belts all the way up to WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood.
