It was recently revealed that Drew McIntyre is suffering from a back injury ahead of his main event bout at WWE Clash at the Castle.
According to an update from PWInsider, we now know more about the health status of the Scottish Superstar ahead of his return to the UK.
“The word on Drew McIntyre being pulled from this weekend’s live events is that it is a precautionary move in order to allow him to rest ahead of The Clash at the Castle PPV” the site revealed.
“We are told that he could have worked the shows this weekend but WWE officials didn’t want to take the chance he could exacerbate the issues, so they are erring on the side of caution” PWInsider concluded.
Drew McIntyre WWE Status
Hopefully, the former WWE Champion will be able to perform at his usual high level at the stadium show in Cardiff, Wales.
There have been rumours that Karrion Kross could get added to the match, making it a triple threat for the WWE Championship.
If this is the case, that would take some of the emphasis off of McIntyre to have to carry a singles match. It would also give the company the chance to not have Reigns take the pin to lose the belt.
