WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has been off of television for some time, but what is the latest on the former WWE Champion and his status?
PWInsider has been fairly on top of the situation regarding the Scottish Superstar, revealing earlier this week that he had completed his application to become a becoming a naturalized American citizen during his post-WrestleMania 39 time off.
The site also confirmed that there isn’t an update in terms of his contractual status with the company, with Mike Johnson writing: “For those looking for an update on his WWE contractual status, as of this writing, there isn’t much of an update. The two sides have yet to come to an agreement on a new contract that would keep McIntyre with the company when his deal is expected to expire in early 2024.Â
“We can also confirm McIntyre was spotted flying out of NYC this week but no word whether he was up North to meet with company officials.”

Beyond that, PWInsider also noted that McIntyre was not backstage at WWE RAW this week, despite many querying Johnson on whether the former Champion was backstage:
“We are told that Tommaso Ciampa was not backstage at Raw last night after being present last week. Neither was Drew McIntyre, who we were asked about quite a bit over the last few days.”
We will hopefully be able to get more information regarding McIntyre and his status with the company in the coming weeks ahead of the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event from London, England.
