A former WWE star recently opened up about the ‘weird’ atmosphere backstage, particularly when a wrestler begins to gain momentum.

Dirty Dango, who is now with IMPACT Wrestling, shared his experiences during his time with WWE, where he was known as Fandango.

Dango spoke about the changing dynamics in the locker room as a wrestler starts to gain momentum. He noted that everyone seems to be friendly when you’re doing dark matches, but the real friends reveal themselves when you start to gain momentum.

The WWE Locker Room Vibes

Dango described the atmosphere as becoming “real, real tight” when a wrestler starts to gain momentum when speaking to the K100 podcast.

He also pointed out that it’s during these times that the true colours of some individuals start to show. He said, “When the boys start b*tching, then I know who the b*tches are, I knew who’s insecure.”

Drawing a comparison with The Rock, Dango questioned whether the legendary wrestler would have spent his time gossiping about other wrestlers.

He emphasised the importance of focusing one’s energy in the right places. He admitted that things did get a bit weird in the WWE locker room during his time.

After leaving WWE, Dango had a stint in the independent circuit before signing with IMPACT Wrestling. He is set to feature in an upcoming IMPACT taping against another alum, Santino Marella, who is now an IMPACT authority figure.

His former tag team partner, Tyler Breeze, remains affiliated with WWE in a content creator capacity, continuing to work with Xavier Woods on UpUpDownDown.
