WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has revealed that he will need to take time off due to injury. Although the former WCW Champion was not expected to stick around for long, he was being lined up for a match at the Saudi Arabia event in October against Bobby Lashley.

Speaking to WWE.com, Goldberg revealed that he has ligament damage and will require knee surgery, but that he is going to make a return to take on the WWE Champion.

“What I do care about is that dirty son of a bitch, Bobby Lashley, and what he did to my son at SummerSlam” Goldberg began, speaking to the cameras.

“I just left the house. Gage, his shoulder’s all jacked up. His neck hurts” Goldberg revealed, playing up the angle from WWE SummerSlam 2021 where Lashley and MVP attacked his son.

“God knows what a dude that size could have done to my son. So the objective has changed. I’m not coming for the WWE Championship. I’m coming for Bobby Lashley, his soul, and I will rip it straight from his chest” Goldberg concluded.

It’s unknown what time frame Goldberg has for a return, however, this may well be a rouse ahead of the originally planned match for Crown Jewel in October.

There are currently no matches made official for the Crown Jewel event, with WWE currently focusing on the Extreme Rules PPV event that takes place in September. It is likely that WWE will try to get a number of legends on the Saudi show in October, as has been the case for previous trips.
