Goldberg has been used in some big spots for WWE over the past couple of years, but what is his current contract status with the company?
Speaking to The New York Post, the former WCW Champion revealed that he is actually still under contract.
“I’m still waiting for that one [call] to happen one of these days,” the former WWE Universal Champion began. “But I suppose you never retire in the wrestling world until you’re dead, so who knows.
“I have worked my ass off day, after day, after day to get to a point where I feel almost normal again,” he continued.
“I just kind of needed that break. So I needed the mental focus of understanding that surgery wasn’t an option at the time, and I needed to put my ass to the grindstone.”
Goldberg WWE Return
It is not known exactly when the company may be calling on the services of the WCW legend. Goldberg would last appear for the company as part of the Elimination Chamber event against Roman Reigns.
Last year, the former WCW Champion worked three matches. It’s not known if he has a similar contract for 2022, but in 2021 he lost to Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble and Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam before beating Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel.
