Heath Slater, once a prominent figure in WWE, is on the brink of a significant change in his professional wrestling career.

Currently known as just “Heath” in IMPACT Wrestling, there’s a buzz in the wrestling community about his imminent status as a free agent.

Heath’s association with WWE came to an abrupt end in April 2020, a decision attributed to the pandemic-induced budgetary constraints.

However, his connection with the company didn’t sever entirely. Fans were treated to a surprise when Heath made a one-off appearance in WWE in July 2020.

Transition from WWE to IMPACT Wrestling

Shortly after his WWE departure, Heath didn’t waste any time in finding a new home. His no-compete clause with WWE expired on July 14, 2020, and just four days later, he made a grand debut at IMPACT Wrestling’s Slammiversary event on July 18.

Sources, including Fightful Select, have indicated that Heath’s contract with IMPACT Wrestling is nearing its end.

What’s more intriguing is that both parties, Heath and IMPACT Wrestling, haven’t yet come to terms on a new agreement. If they don’t strike a deal soon, Heath will officially become a free agent by October this year.

A Glimpse into Heath’s Contractual Decisions

It’s worth noting that WWE had previously approached Heath with a full-time contract offer. However, Heath chose to decline, stating that the proposed deal was significantly less than what he previously earned with the company.

Such decisions highlight Heath’s commitment to his worth and the value he brings to the wrestling industry.

Injury and its Impact on Heath’s Contract

Injuries are an unfortunate part of the wrestling business, and Heath wasn’t immune to them. During the early stages of his stint with IMPACT Wrestling, he suffered an injury.

As a result, an extension was added to his contract, compensating for the time he was out of action.
