WWE Superstar and sure-fire Hall of Famer John Cena appeared on the The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon this week to discuss his new Fast & Furious 9 film.

During the interview, Cena also revealed that he will be returning to WWE, but at this point the return date is unclear.

‘Those rumors are true” John Cena said on the show, regarding the rumors of a SummerSlam return for the former WWE Champion. “I will definitely be back to the WWE, I just don’t know when.’

Cena also discussed the WWE logo that he posted back in May on Instagram, which led fans to speculate further on his return. “Yeah, I posted that back in May. I was feeling rather nostalgic about the WWE, and I just wanted to post the logo. Some people took it as I was returning immediately, which was obviously not the case.”

When will John Cena return to WWE?

Cena would finish by emphatically stating that he has not had his last match in a WWE ring, and he will be returning at some point. ‘I haven’t had my last match and I can’t wait to have my next match.’

John Cena is currently being rumored for a WWE return at the SummerSlam PPV event in August. WWE are planning on making the summer event ‘this year’s WrestleMania,’ with a massively stacked card in Las Vegas.

The 16 time World Champion is being slated for a match against Universal Champion Roman Reigns, which would be for the gold. This is arguably WWE’s biggest box office match that they could do with a returning Cena, with the added wrinkle of Reigns being in the peak of his current heel run.
