John Cena vs Logan Paul may have been scrapped from the WrestleMania 39 sheet but we may get to see it later this year.

WWE had discussed multiple ideas for the 16-time world champion at the upcoming big event. Rumors ranged from the YouTube star to people such as Gunther. The company ultimately decided to settle on Austin Theory, confirming the match for the Show of Shows.

WrestleVotes recently provided an update on one of the nixed ideas while speaking to GiveMeSport. They noted that the match between Cena and Paul could still take place, just at a later date:

‘Logan loved the idea and Cena was totally down it. They’d have made mega money and it’s just a matter of when. They want to tell a good story because they’re megastars, so there’s got to be a reason. The matches is very much on the table, even at a Summerslam. All parties involved want to do it.’

The Cenation Leader returned to WWE TV during the March 6 Raw and he was instantly greeted by Austin Theory. The US champion challenged the WWE veteran to a WrestleMania match. Cena originally rejected this bout but he later said yes to it after consulting the crowd.
