John Cena told AEW star they couldn’t sell merchandise

AEW Dark: Elevation commentator Paul Wight recently revealed a backstage story about 16-time WWE World Champion, John Cena.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the 7 foot 2 giant revealed that Cena to him on multiple occasions that he could not sell merchandise during his time in WWE, as “no one would buy it.”

‘Don’t put it on my shirt cause even John Cena said I can’t sell merch, so there you go” Paul Wight began on the podcast.

“He used to tease me all the time, Cena used to say if my merch was money, nobody would buy it. I said ’˜because I’m too busy making you look good.’ Bad guys sell tickets and good guys sell t-shirts, so there you go’ Wight added.

John Cena lost to Roman Reigns at this past Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2021 PPV; the star of The Suicide Squad confirmed that he is now going to be taking time away from WWE due to his busy schedule.

Paul Wight is scheduled to be facing QT Marshall at the AEW All Out PPV event on September 5th, live in Chicago, Ilinois.
