Logan Paul was originally rumoured to face John Cena at WrestleMania 39. These plans however, seem to have changed.

The YouTube star made his WWE return during the Royal Rumble PPV. He competed in the men’s battle royal and eliminated Seth Rollins to seemingly set up a match between the two instead of the Cenation Leader.

Dave Meltzer provided an update on the change of plans during the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. He noted that Logan Paul is still green in the ring and the belief is that he will need a lot of practice with his opponent to put on a good match. This won’t be possible with Cena who has other commitments:

‘The worry about Logan Paul is, the feeling is you need lots and lots and lots of practice and John Cena doesn’t have the time to do that practice.”

As far as the plans for John Cena go, it appears that he will be facing Austin Theory at Mania. The US champion has been using ‘the champ is here’ catchphrase a lot recently, teasing the match. Meltzer noted that Theory has a lot more experience and he could go out with John without much practice:

“Cena can go with Theory and Theory is experienced enough. They don’t need lots and lots of practice to have a decent match.’
