Another former NXT Champion may well be making their way back to the company, according to a recent report and speculation.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the company are actively trying to get JONAH/Bronson Reed back in the fold.
‘When (Okada vs JONAH) was over, they did a handshake, and I don’t know, they [the commentators] didn’t talk [about it being a] finale and they didn’t say he was leaving, but kind of the way that handshake. WWE’s gone after JONAH (Bronson Reed) and they want him” Meltzer began.
NXT Superstar coming back to WWE?
“And even though JONAH was getting a great push here, this was actually the first pinfall loss he’s taken in New Japan” Meltzer added on the podcast.
“The handshake was kind of weird, it was almost like you think maybe he’s going back (to WWE). But I don’t know if that’s the case or not” Meltzer concluded.
Triple H has brought back a number of former Superstars from the Black and Gold version of the brand, and he was clearly a big fan of Bronson Reed.
It remains to be seen whether or not he actually returns in the near future, but it’s not worth ruling it out.
