Pat McAfee says there were only three people who knew about his surprise WrestleMania appearance.
WrestleMania 39 is in the books, and it was both sweet and sour for the fans. The show featured highs such as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn winning the Undisputed Tag Titles to lows such as Cody Rhodes failing to complete his story.
One moment that fans enjoyed was the surprise appearance of the former NFL Player. McAfee challenged the host of the show Miz to a match and won the bout in under 4 minutes with help from Snoop Dogg to give fans something to cheer about.

During the latest episode of his podcast, Pat McAfee opened up about his shocking return. He revealed that only three people knew about it in advance:
‘There were three people that knew, in the whole world, that was going to be a situation for a little bit. We needed the moment to pop up. Finally, when Miz said, ’˜I sent out an open challenge.’ All parties were like, ’˜Now is the time.’”
The former WWE commentator noted that even Michael Cole had no idea that his former partner would be making an appearance at the PPV:
“Michael Cole had no idea I was there. He walked by the bus one time, actually seen him. Haven’t seen that guy in a long time, miss that guy, would like to talk to that guy. Can’t because we don’t know if the moment is going to come, and I don’t want to distract him.”
