WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has reportedly signed a new contract with the company and will be appearing on shows this summer.

There had been some reports indicating that Roman would be taking around 10 weeks off during the summer, but that does not now appear to be the case.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, the WWE Universal Champion will not be taking an extended period of time off.

“I spoke to someone over at WWE regarding Roman & his schedule moving forward” Zarian began on the podcast.

“It’s not expected for Roman to take extended time off. He will be on PLEs & TV. The only change will be with smaller market house show, which is why he showed his gratitude to the fans in Trenton NJ” it was revealed.

That means we will hopefully see the SmackDown Superstar appearing on the likes of Hell in a Cell, Money in the Bank and SummerSlam later this year.

Reigns had previously cut a promo at a house show in New Jersey where he seemed to indicate that he might be retiring soon.

With the details of his new contract, it appears as though he will just be taking a lighter schedule going forward for house shows.
