Cody Rhodes has been extremely successful since his return to WWE in 2022, but rumors have indicated that he may have had different plans.
According to a new report from Boozer Wrestling, there were talks backstage of Cody ‘taking over’ The Club at some point.
“There was always the discussion of him taking over [The Club]. But its all scraps. However, Styles’ situation isn’t getting better with injuries + early retirement of his choice” the account claimed.

It’s worth noting that this rumor from Boozer is just that, a rumor, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.
Rhodes recently appeared alongside The Good Brothers as part of a WWE Live Event, and he of course was previously part of New Japan’s Bullet Club faction.
There is still a chance that he could become the leader of the group at some point, as there are a ton of stories that could be told on RAW or SmackDown.
If it does end up taking place, it’ll probably be part of a heel turn, and we’re some time away from that happening for the ‘American Nightmare.’
Still, it would be pretty cool to see at some point.
