A huge New Japan Pro Wrestling/NJPW star has reportedly been ‘discussed’ backstage as a potential Royal Rumble entrant in January.

According to a new report/rumor from Xero News, Minoru Suzuki was at one point being talked about backstage as a potential surprise entrant.

“Minoru Suzuki was someone internally spoke about as being a potential surprise entrant as a one-off for the Royal Rumble” the site claimed on Twitter.

NJPW star for Royal Rumble

It’s worth noting that this rumor from Xero News is just that, a rumor, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.

We’ve seen a lot of rumors regarding New Japan and WWE potentially working together in some capacity, with Karl Anderson working Wrestle Kingdom in January.

Whilst we will probably not see Suzuki appearing during the Rumble, there is a good chance that we could see some shock in the 30-man and 30-woman matches at the end of January 2023.
