The opponent for Roman Reigns at the upcoming Royal Rumble 2023 event appears to have been leaked months ahead of the card.

According to a new report/rumor from WrestlingNews.co, WWE is planning to have Kevin Owens face the Tribal Chief at the event.

“WrestlingNews.co is told by WWE sources that the current plan for Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble is for him to defend the WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens” the site revealed.

“At one point, Sheamus was penciled in for that spot but we’re told that it’s KO vs. Reigns. As many have figured out by now, the plan is indeed for KO and Zayn to challenge The Usos for the World Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania” the site concluded.

It’s worth noting that this rumor from Wrestlingnews.co is just that, a rumor, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.

Considering the way in which the WarGames match ended means that this isn’t really that surprising. If you haven’t seen the show, Kevin Owens hit Reigns with a stunner and he very nearly beat the Tribal Chief until Sami Zayn stopped the referee from making the count.
